Board Approves 2026 COLA
On February 18th, the SCERS Board of Retirement approved the following Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) levels effective April 2026, as recommended by the system’s actuary:
Miscellaneous Tier 1 and Safety Tier 1
- with retirement date between 4/1/1976 and 3/31/2026 = 2.0%
- with retirement date on or before 3/31/1976 = 4.0%
Miscellaneous Tiers 3, 4, and 5, and Safety Tiers 2, 3, and 4:
Contribution Refunds for 7/12-Shift Workers
The Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS) is processing contribution refunds for about 435 County employees who work the “7/12” shift.
The refunds are due to past and present Miscellaneous Tier 5 employees who worked a 7/12 shift since April 2019.
1099-R Forms Available on January 30
Retiree 1099-R forms will be available through the SCERS member portal on January 30. If you haven’t yet registered for portal access, we encourage you to do so. For information about the member portal and how to register, go to my.scers.gov/Register.
