Alternative Assets Fee and Expense Report
Some of the most powerful drivers of returns in a pension portfolio come from alternative investments such as private equity, real estate, and infrastructure. But these types of investments often involve more complex fee structures.
To maintain transparency, SCERS publishes an Alternative Assets Fee and Expense Report each year. This report details the fees paid to external investment managers who run SCERS’ alternative asset portfolios, including private funds. It also fulfills requirements under Assembly Bill 2833, which mandates disclosure of fees for alternative investments.
For members, this report shows how SCERS is balancing the costs of managing sophisticated investments with the returns they generate. For policymakers and the public, it demonstrates SCERS’ commitment to accountability and good governance.
